Cashier

Job Summary:

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. As a cashier, you will be the first point of contact for customers, responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers with a positive attitude and assist them throughout the checkout process
• Operate cash registers, scanners, and other point-of-sale (POS) equipment
• Process sales transactions accurately using cash, credit/debit cards, or other payment methods
• Issue receipts, refunds, or exchanges as necessary
• Maintain accurate cash drawer balances and follow all cash handling procedures
• Answer customer questions and resolve issues in a professional manner
• Keep checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked
• Assist with bagging items and helping customers carry purchases when needed
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth store operations
• Comply with store policies and health and safety regulations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous cashier or customer service experience is a plus, but not required
• Basic math skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable, honest, and punctual
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [X lbs/kg] as needed
