Pujari

Job Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable, disciplined, and devout Pujari (Hindu Priest) to perform daily rituals, lead religious ceremonies, and uphold spiritual practices in our temple. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Hindu scriptures, rituals, and traditions and should be capable of guiding devotees in their spiritual practices with devotion, discipline, and humility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily temple rituals, including morning and evening aartis, abhishekam, archana, and bhog offerings.
• Conduct special pujas, homas (havans), and religious ceremonies during festivals and on request by devotees.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanctity of the temple premises, idols (murtis), and altar.
• Recite or chant mantras and slokas from Vedas, Puranas, and other sacred texts.
• Guide devotees in religious practices and explain the significance of rituals and festivals.
• Assist in organizing temple events, spiritual classes, and community gatherings.
• Maintain proper records of pujas, donations, and rituals conducted.
• Follow the temple’s code of conduct and ensure respectful interactions with all devotees.
• Reside in temple quarters (if applicable) and be available for special or emergency rituals.

Qualifications:

• Formal training in Vedic rituals and scriptures from a recognized institution or Guru.
• Proven experience performing Hindu rituals and ceremonies.
• Proficiency in Sanskrit and familiarity with key Hindu texts (Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, etc.).
• Good communication skills and ability to interact respectfully with diverse devotees.
• Must follow a disciplined, sattvic (pure) lifestyle in alignment with temple values.
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and festival days as required.

• Multilingual abilities (e.g., Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, English)
• Basic knowledge of using digital tools for temple announcements or streaming rituals
• Capability to lead bhajans or devotional singing sessions
